Tulsa Review

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Tulsa Review seeks work by emerging and established writers and artists worldwide. We accept submissions in three categories: Poetry, Short Prose (short story, flash fiction, personal essay, flash creative nonfiction, one-act play or screenplay, etc.), and Visual Art

Our open submission period begins each year in early May and closes the following March 1st. We publish each annual issue in late April.

Our General Submissions are open to all writers and artists everywhere. General Submissions are judged by Tulsa Review‘s student editorial staff. Although we cannot pay general contributors at this time, we love you dearly and will make every effort to care for and promote your work.

Our Student Contests are open only to TCC students who are enrolled at the time of submission and who have not already won three contests. Student Contest submissions are judged by TCC English faculty. Winners are awarded prizes of 1st Place, 2nd Place, or 3rd Place in each of our three categories. Contest poems may additionally be considered for the TCC Rain Poetry Project, to be stenciled on a downtown Tulsa sidewalk and become visible every time it rains.

Simultaneous submissions (work currently under consideration at other publications) are welcome, but if your submission is accepted elsewhere before we respond, please use Submittable to withdraw that submission immediately.

Beyond that, please just read the rules carefully for the category to which you submit. Thank you for allowing us to review your work!
